Get Started
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
Get StartedVSWS was founded in the loving memory of Shri Vijay Shanker Tare, a selfless social worker who devoted his life to serving others. Under the leadership of Smt. Tilottama Tare, the Society works tirelessly to support marginalized children and women, helping them access education, health services, and the skills to build better futures.
We believe that education is the most powerful tool for social change. At VSWS, we strive to end child labor and promote literacy by bringing children into classrooms, not landfills. Our goal is to raise responsible, empowered individuals who lead their communities with integrity and compassion.
Our vision is to create a society where childhood is joyful, womanhood is empowered, and the environment is respected. Our mission is to drive awareness and action around social and ecological issues, enabling the deprived to realize their full potential through education, care, and community support.
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world — and every child deserves access to it."
Enrolled in private schools through our education sponsorship programs
Trained in vocational skills that enable economic independence
Conducted community workshops on health, hygiene, sustainability, and literacy
That small, consistent acts of kindness can change the world
Our initiatives have received significant coverage in local newspapers, highlighting our community impact:
We believe that no child should be denied the chance to learn. Our team identifies children forced into child labour — including rag picking — and helps transition them into schools. We provide academic support, life skills training, and moral education to ensure they not only attend school but thrive in it.
We offer skill development programs, vocational training, and awareness sessions to equip women with the tools to become financially independent. Our focus is on building confidence, resilience, and leadership from the ground up.
Our adult literacy initiatives teach reading, writing, spoken English, and essential knowledge around health, hygiene, and etiquette. These programs help individuals build confidence and self-worth, and open doors to better employment opportunities.
We actively promote sustainable, eco-friendly practices. From awareness drives to local clean-up activities, we strive to instill environmental responsibility in the communities we serve — because a better world must also be a greener one.
Our key initiatives include:
1. Akkshar - Education & Literacy
2. Sankalp - Women Empowerment & Safety
3. Nirog - Health
4. Aahar - Nutrition
5. Prithvi - Environmental Conservation
6. Uday - Awareness & Counselling
7. Umang - Stationery & Clothes Distribution
8. COVID-19 Campaigns
Our flagship program focused on providing quality education to underprivileged children.
Empowering women through skill development and safety awareness programs.
These are firsthand testimonials from children from impoverished households:
I deeply value the opportunity to attend school and engage in learning. I love attending classes.
Attending school has been transformative, helping me overcome negative influences and harmful habits I encountered at a young and vulnerable age. I am committed to attending classes regularly and studying diligently, as I aspire to become a doctor.
